« Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce »

No need to buy BBQ sauces from your grocery store.  Here is a quick and delicious BBQ sauce that can be made in a snap and packs a restaurant-quality punch.  Use on your grilling faves, french fries, polish sausages, meatloaf…..or anywhere you have a taste for some great BBQ sauce.  This is a great and versatile year round sauce, so when summer is long gone, you can make this sauce and bring the outdoors in.

1 cup ketchup

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1 Tablespoon Worchestershire sauce

1 teaspoon liquid smoke

3 Tablespoons chipotle sauce (use chipotle in adobo if you like it very spicy)

2 Tablespoons brown sugar, packed

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.  Reduce heat to low and cover.  Allow sauce to simmer for 25 minutes or until slightly thickened.

Makes approximately 1 1/2 cups of sauce.

Note:  If you like your BBQ sauce hot, add more of the chipotles in adobo.

I've always wanted to know how to get rid of the honey, Worchestershire sauce and apple cider vinegar that's been sitting who-knows-how-long in my pantry.

Will definitely make this as soon as I get me some liquid smoke.

BTW- the fam. has had the mole sauce (either in beef nachos, chicken enchiladas or quesadillas AT LEAST 5x since you posted the recipe online.)

And....has since bought another package of the Abuelita Chocolate (I couldn't was on sale!)

I am so glad you and the family are really enjoying the mole sauce. The BBQ sauce is also quite yummy. Great on and in meatloaf, fries, burgers, ribs or anything you would normally reach for ketchup.
